Nordic Aquafarms has now clarified final land agreements for Fredrikstad Seafoods in Norway, while the site for our Danish operation Sashimi Royal has been in place for some time. We currently have ownership, lease and option agreements for a total of 11,5 hectares of land. The current road map is future production capacity at these sites at 11,000 tons round fish per year, including fingerling production and slaughtering facilities.
The Sashimi Royal Site in Denmark has expansion potential to 4800 tons annual production of yellowtail kingfish and salmon. Fredrikstad Seafoods has secured expansion potential to 6000 tons annual production of salmon. In addition, Nordic Aquafarms has a joint venture in operation at Maximus in Denmark for brood stock management and fingerling production. Maximus has a 20 year track-record of producing high quality marine fingerlings.
Nordic Aquafarms will pursue a phased development approach to reach these volumes as we firmly believe that establishing and refining production at a medium scale is a key success factor before further expansion. The first building stage in Fredrikstad is set to be 2400 tons annual production. The first building stage in Denmark is set to be 1200 tons annual production. An innovation and R&D program has been established to continuously improve quality, stability, fish welfare and profitability in the facilities.
The Sashimi Royal facility is ready for construction. Fredrikstad Seafoods is awaiting final local permits in Norway. Going forward Nordic Aquafarms will invite select investors to participate in realising our Nordic plans.
